On Friday 5 April, EBC together with MPWiK Wroclaw organized the very first knowledge picnic. The concept is simple: in short expert meetings (small groups of max. 10 to 15 people), hosted by one of the participating utilities, experiences/best practices around one specific process/theme are discussed.
15 participants from 4 different utilities gathered to discuss about the digital transformation within the water utility. MPWiK Wroclaw, host of the picnic and an absolute best practice in this field, presented 2 best practices in which the digital transformation helped them to improve (on energy efficiency and reducing water losses). The presentations were followed by discussion and presentations from the other participants on the current status at their respective utilities.
The picnic ended with a visit to Hydropolis, a centre where diverse multimedia technologies, interactive installations and more provide extensive information, while serving one purpose - to show water from various fascinating perspectives.
EBC is looking back at a successful event and is looking forward to the next picnic!
